Arnold

"I am writing to give an update on our adoption! We adopted Arnold, a doxie/terrier mix, on Sept 11, 2009. After a few days within his new home, he underwent a name change, as he wasn't quite answering to the name Arnold. My husband and son started calling him different names and when my husband said "what about Fritz" Arnold quickly responded. So ever since, he has been answering to the name Fritz! Arnold, a.k.a Fritz, quickly made our home his home! He is quite the character and I call him my little joker. He can give you a look that seems to be a smile and when his huge brown eyes have that gleam....you know he is up to something. We had to stay on top of things, as Fritz quickly earned the nickname of Houdini, because he could get out of any space within our fenced yard. Thankfully, he never went far, but we have seemed to block all escape routes! Fritz has grown attached to our golden retriever, Roscoe, and they are true pals. Fritz likes to start playful runs through our house and yard. He has truly been a wonderful addition to our loving home.
Have a wonderful holiday season, and thank you for allowing us to give Arnold a.k.a Fritz "Houdini" a home of his own this holiday season."

Cleo

"Miss Cleo, a tortoiseshell kitten with a wild yellow stripe down her nose, came to us from SVAS last fall as a companion to an abandoned kitten we found.  She was very small and she is still a dainty cat, weighing in at about 7 pounds.  Cleo likes nothing better than sitting on my shoulder and giving me a kitty-massages.  Unfortunately she has never learned to sheath her claws, so she wears rubber toenail covers that are held on with super glue.  They work great, and make the massages much more pleasant while allowing her to keep her toenails.  Miss Cleo is a very Zen-like cat, very serene.  She seldom purrs.  She will look at herself in the mirror, sit up on her hind legs, and make karate moves in the air with her paws.  She is so fun to watch and I can’t wait to get this on video.  Miss Cleo is very maternal, and spends time washing the rest of the cat family.  She is pictured with Peanut, a kitten I found after the first mini-blizzard in October 2008, unable to walk, wet, nearly frozen, and so starved that all of his bones were palpable.  He’s doing MUCH better now!  She has 4 additional members of her kitten family with similar hard-luck stories including Peanut’s real sister, a Scottie named Hammie, and a foster kitten sister that I swear is NOT going to move in, except she already has.  Our family room is full of cat furniture and toys and our home is a racetrack.  We enjoy them every single day.  Every one is spayed/neutered (except the foster baby).  Thank you for Miss Cleo!"
